SHERIFF’S MOBILE COMMAND VEHCILE
On September 8, 2012 the San Mateo County Sheriff’s Office took delivery of a brand new Mobile Command Vehicle (MCV). This new vehicle replaces our previous command vehicle, a retired commuter bus that was converted into a mobile dispatch center in the early 1990‘s. The vehicle is operated and maintained by the San Mateo County Sheriff’s Office and the Sheriff’s Communications Unit. The vehicle serves as a field command post providing an incident with a dispatch center, satellite & cellular based internet, a wireless hotspot, a high definition video platform, voice over ip (VOIP) phone lines and office space. The vehicle is available for use by any public safety agency in the region.
