Sheriff’s Mobile Command Vehicle 1
The San Mateo County Sheriff's Office Mobile Command Vehicle (MCV) is a state-of-the-art mobile field command post that supports emergency response, planned events, and major incidents throughout the region. Placed into service on September 8, 2012, the MCV replaced a retired commuter bus that had served as a mobile dispatch center since the early 1990s.
Operated and maintained by the Sheriff's Office and its Communications Unit, the MCV is equipped with a mobile dispatch center, ccellular and satellite-based internet connectivity, a wireless hotspot, high-definition video capabilities, Voice over IP (VoIP) telephone service, and dedicated workspace for incident command personnel. Available to any public safety agency in the region, the vehicle enhances interagency coordination by providing a reliable, self-contained command and communications platform wherever it is needed.
